Essential Job Duties:

-Works with the Director in developing and establishing goals and objectives consistent with the agency’s strategic plan.
-Plans, develops, and approves schedules, priorities, and standards for achieving goals.
-Implements agency vision and strategy for the division.
-Develops and implements techniques for evaluating program activities; and directs evaluation activities.
-Performs day-to-day management and monitoring of budgets and expenditures.
-Represents the agency at business meetings, hearings, trials, legislative sessions, conferences, and seminars or on boards, panels, and committees.
-Reviews results of special investigations, internal audits, research studies, forecasts, and modeling exercises to provide direction and guidance.
-Develops, recommends, implements, coordinates, monitors, and evaluates policies and procedures.
-Helps select, train, and evaluate job performance of members of the management team. Provides professional development, training, and mentoring support for division leadership.
-Reviews and evaluates existing business processes and implements changes to improve operations and meet strategic objectives and state/federal requirements.
-Reviews both Austin and district office operations to identify and resolve unwarranted inconsistencies.
-Analyzes state and federal regulatory proposals and develops oil and gas regulatory policy recommendations.
-Serves as acting division director in the absence of the division director.
-Performs related work as assigned.
-This job requires travel.
